thinking of 260ai as a choice for my ar10 rebarrel. just curious to what people are getting for ballistics out of it. or issues?

Can you get an AI to feed out of a semi auto?

I have a barrel on a Savage target action and I seat the 140amax way out since I shoot single shot. I shot the 139 Scenar and the 140 Berger 2915-2945ish but opted for the Amax because they are cheaper. I am going to try the 120 Amax to see if I cant make up for BC with speed. I shoot the 130 Accubond for deer I push it slow and it works great. I shoot to 600 most often and 1000 when the conditions are set for it. I have taken it to a mile but its one [beeep] of a trip at 600 above sea level.

I had an AR-10 and I wanted to push for a 7-08 or 7RSAUM in a custom gun. Great bullets for shooting long ways just not a lot of long range killing power to be had is the reason I went back to bolt gun.

I shoot the 260 A.I. but not out of an AR-10. If you wanted to shoot the long 140 gr. class of match bullets it would be as a single shot. The velocities quoted my kdog70 are what I am getting out of my bolt gun using H4831SC. I am have a very accurate load with the 123 Sierra MatchKing that is running 3180 fps out of a 30" Krieger barrel using H4350. \

my guess is that an AI cartridge would not be auto friendly. i am just trying to get as much info as i can about different calibers, my new gun build may end up not being an ar10.

A gunsmith friend in Dalton, Ga made up custom based on a 264 Win mag A.I. He blew the shoulders out with a 40* shoulder. He had a wild following shootng the 120g Sierra Match kings at 3550+ with 26" barrels, he liked the #5 best with a #4 at a minimum.

He said that he had recorded over 65 one shot kills on deer at some pretty respectable distances.

Winchester brass is tougher than Remington and Weatherby brass.
