Issue One:

Has anyone loaded for the 95gr V-Max for any .260 barrel length? Trying to get this bird to fly out of 26 incher, and it just doesn't seem to want to @ any speed or length. Interested in powders and C.O.L. for the critter. I can get a 100gr Nosler BT and others to stay under .6 @ 100yds. This one bullet is kicking my butt. A 6.5 bullet that won't fly - ain't one to my knowledge until now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

Issue Two:

Has anyone tried a Ruger M77R MKII standard 22" in this caliber? Need a truck gun and choices are few in this catagory. Ain't going to buy a Super America or Hunter 75 to throw on a tractor seat.

Your thoughts....thanks in advance.

Individual barrels prefer different bullets. Trying to make a barrel shoot a bullet it doesn't like will most likely result in frustration.

My .260 Rem. shoots excellent with a stiff load of RL-15 and the 95 gr. Vmaxs (not my first choice of varmint bullet for this gun tho) I prefer the 85 gr. Sierra. With the 95 gr. bullet I loaded them out as far as I could and still get bullet pull....don't recall the COL. Could not reach the lands.

Remington LSS Mtn. Rifle 22" barrel factory stock.

We use it occasionally to shoot pds with when the other guns get hot. You get about 3 shots before the barrel is warm and the gun has to set.

I push 95 gr Vmax @ 3315 fps in my 23" custom 700 with Varget. Average accuracy is half inch 3 shot groups

hell of a cartridge /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif
