.260 Remington

The 260 is 308 necked down to a 6.5. It's got a long barrel life, and very inherently accurate according to my 3 rifles. I enjoy shooting 139 Scenars at about 2750fps well out to 1300 yards. Easy recoil, great ballistics, decent kids rifle! FWIW all of mine have an 8 twist barrel with the Desert Tech exception of 9.
Skinney, what length barrel do you run on your 260s and what load? I am running a 20" barrel and my load is 40gr H4350 behind a 140gr eld-m. I ask because my speeds are on the slower side at just under 2600 fps. I have thought about bumping down to a 120gr eld-m to gain a little velocity and a flater shooting load inside of 600 yards.

Any of you 260 guys try the 80/85gr Hammer Hunters at 3300-3400 fps? They are pretty neat for sub-500/600 yard shots. Accuracy is awesome. I've only used them on a few rock chucks so far (6.5x47L @ 3300 fps), and they didn't disappoint.

I have not used nor seen those before. Interesting looking bullet. Probly a bit light for my liking but I could see those being handy if you hunt areas you cant see more than 300-400 yards
