I have shot these against feral dogs many years ago - they are Godawful in the damage they do.

I used to live in PA near a tourist area where families would rent a cottage for the summer. They would buy the kids a puppy to play with, and come September, they would go back to the city, and abandon the dog to it's own.

The dogs would pack up, and since they were not afraid of people, they became a real threat to the locals.

By November, they were dangerous, and we would shoot them on sight.

That was a loooooooooong time ago.

We killed heck out of jackrabbits, chucks, and coyotes with Rem 700's and 90g Sierra's, they are a very accurate bullet for the 270.

My load in the 270 that I had was 47.5g of 3031(confirm this load in your reloading manual, work up to it in your rifle), shot tiny bug holes and extremely deadly on anything. We shot a lot of deer, but we neck or head shot them.

The 90g Sierra is one heck of a varmint load for a 270. Another friend shot a load of AA2700.

Velocity with these two powders is in the 3500 fps area or a little better.

Two rounds have really impressed me at how they destroy a coyote, the 270 win with the load of 3031 and the 90g Sierra, and the 257 Weatherby with the 100g ballisitic tip shot out of a custom rifle at 3850 fps. Both will take the entire ribcage off a coyote, blow their entire head off on head shot, and if you happen not to leade them enough on the run and hit them in the rear end, they will be dead right there from shooting their hind quarters off entirely.

I also shoot the 110g Sierra spt game king but it is a deer bullet along with the 110g hornady HP and the 110g tipped triple shock. I have wanted to try the 110g V max in the 270, but speed loss is 200 fps over the 90g Sierra hp...you will not know till you know.

Shooting feral cats with the 270 win and sierra 90g hp will make your day!

110g load

58.0g of Win 760 with a fed 210

57.5g of R#17, win primer

unreal accurate and interchange with the 110g tipped triple shock.

110g sierra Is great on deer!
