The franchi 48-al is the best and about the lightest 28 guage on the market for a repeater. However I would get the 20 guage its plenty light. My weighs 5lbs 10 oz and the 28 is down to about 5lbs 6oz with the 26" barrel. Its available with a 24" barrel but I think the 26 swings better. whittakers has them for 635 shipped. Its been around since 1948 and is a reliable gun that will last a lifetime. You can pick up a used one for about 400. I've tried a number of guns seeking the best upland gun that won't break the bank and the franchi wins by far. I will be buying a 12 and a 28 someday. its worth a few hundred more for the franchi over a pump. It is a quality gun as reliable as any for a heck of a price.
