I haven't used that exact one, but anything that disrupts the straight lines is excellent. It's even more effective if you have a hood or veil to break up your head/shoulder outline. It's annoying if you're hunting in brush or crossing fences, because those leaves get caught on stuff.

THE BEST

No very very light and only one piece. Put on on like a jacket in warm or cold weather. Goes down below the knees
Called Shaggie Long Coat. The one you see is desert color. I use this one out west for coyotes.

Quote:Are those things heavy to wear?

The ones made with jute are heavy, hot, stink and shed a lot. The plastic die-cut leaf ones are light, but they're pretty hot, too. If you wear the jute one in the rain, it will weigh about 30 pounds at the end of the day.

I agree. That's something that will work well without breaking the bank.

I just ordered a ghillie from Voodoo tactical. I was going to buy the APC Red Rock Ghillie, I looked at both for a long time. I don't know why I went with the Voodoo Ghillie I guess it just looked better for some reason. { I could be wrong } I should have it here Wed. 8-12-09 Anyone ever bought the Voodoo Ghillie ?

I'll add this, the ones Bass Pro sells vary alot. I don't know if you just saw them in the catalog, of if you have a Bass Pro close and actually got to handle them.

The different camo patterns have a different feel to them. For example, the Advantage Max-1 looked the best, but was WAY loud. The regular Realtree all purpose didn't look as good, but was a softer material and real quiet.

I bought a set from Cabela's that I used last season and liked alot. It's the "TCS". All of the fabric that I've seen with this set up is cotton [soft and quiet]. Hope this helps.
