30-06 Too Much Gun?

With the right bullet, an '06 should do just fine on coyotes. a 150-180gr bullet of heavy construction will pencil straight through a coyote. I use a 45-70 as a heavy-cover gun. I always get an exit and it's hardly ever bigger than .450". I've killed numerous foxes with it as well and it does less damage than a .22 hornet.

Just pick the right bullet and it will work fine.
 
You cant kill them to dead .The 06 has been around 100 years and there is more load data on it than you can read in a lifetime. From 90 grain accelerators to 220 grain solids ,so if you want a varmit rifle you got it and by the way its all I shoot
