200g AB's or 210g VLD's with H1000 or Retumbo is what I used to burn out 1 300 RUM barrel a few years ago. 94g H1000/95g Retumbo w/200g ABs, and 88g H1000/89g Retumbo w/210 VLD's, Fed 215's, Rem cases, 3.660" for 200g AB's, 3.8" for 210g VLD's. Velocity was 3200fps w/200's and 3000fps w/210's. Accuracy was 1/2-1 MOA out to 1K from my tuned up Remington LSS.
For an all around big game bullet I would go with the 200g AB. It will penetrate deeper on closer shots and still expand enough way out there to get er done. The VLD is not a good close quarters bullet on something like an elk, my experience anyways.
Both are very accurate bullets out to 1K from my experience. Both will serve well for target shooting or deer hunting, but when it comes to elk or bear, I would use the AB. It never failed to exit the elk shoulders I put them through, from 150-525 yards. Cant say the same for VLD's on deer shoulders.
