200g AB's or 210g VLD's with H1000 or Retumbo is what I used to burn out 1 300 RUM barrel a few years ago. 94g H1000/95g Retumbo w/200g ABs, and 88g H1000/89g Retumbo w/210 VLD's, Fed 215's, Rem cases, 3.660" for 200g AB's, 3.8" for 210g VLD's. Velocity was 3200fps w/200's and 3000fps w/210's. Accuracy was 1/2-1 MOA out to 1K from my tuned up Remington LSS.

For an all around big game bullet I would go with the 200g AB. It will penetrate deeper on closer shots and still expand enough way out there to get er done. The VLD is not a good close quarters bullet on something like an elk, my experience anyways.

Both are very accurate bullets out to 1K from my experience. Both will serve well for target shooting or deer hunting, but when it comes to elk or bear, I would use the AB. It never failed to exit the elk shoulders I put them through, from 150-525 yards. Cant say the same for VLD's on deer shoulders.

Kyote nailed er on the head.. I use a 210 berger and 208 amax with 93 grains of retumbo loaded to mag length in my sendero both are very accurate and they both shoot the same Point of aim..

I shoot a sendero also in 300 RUM. I settled in with the 180g swift scirocco 2 in front of IMR 4350.. I got 3200 FPS with my most accurate load. Only have tried it on deer. (Puts the smack down) Was able to take it 800 yard with great accuracy. Retumbo was not accurate in my gun unless it was super hot. Just my experience... Jason

Same here. Bought my Sendero shortly before the season started and didn't have time to work up a load so I bought a couple boxes of 180 grain Nosler custom trophy grade rounds. They shot great out of my gun. I have some Norma brass, 210 grain Berger VLDs and a pound of Retumbo I plan on trying out of it when the weather breaks though.

I have two loads for my rum 95g 7828 with a 180g swift a frame at 3500fps and 93 g retumbo with the 230g berger hybrid not the otm at 3120 fps those loads are both pretty hot so reduce them about 5 grains and work up for your rifle they both shot under 1/2 moa
