.300 Win Mag loads...what are YOU using?

Retumbo and the 230s are a good combo. Work your loads. My load is a good bit over max but it runs well. I only get 3-4 loads out of my brass though before the pockets go. The rl25 would work well with 215 and under I'd think too

I use 4831 and rl21 with a 165 sst. Good deer killers.

Retumbo, H1000, and 4350 keep my attention in 300 and 7mm mags. I tend to shoot moderately heavy for caliber pills to capitalize upon the higher BC and greater impact momentum, so I run 180-220's in 300wm. Never has made much sense to run light and mid weight bullets in magnum cartridges when a 308 or '06 family case can capitalize on 150-165grn pills, just feels like wasted potential.

I agree with varmintterror on this one. My 300winny is in a browning bar and I load it like a hot 06. Babt boy sent me a pic of a 2 1/2 inch group at 500 with a hot rodded 208 amax. I am guessing at the 2.5, it is smaller than the empty case next to it. He wont give up the load which probably means that it is too hot. But I do know that it is norma brass, 208 amax, and 4831, with a 215m.

touch the lands with the bullet
150g Accubond will just about shoot a deer in half
150g tipped triple shock is the same length bullet as the 180g Nosler ballistic tip, and I don't think that an elk would stop one.
This load works well in my rifle, work up to it in your rifle.

Ive been using H4831 with 210 Grain bergers for F/Class and Deer hunting.

210 Grain Berger jammed .005"
This load shot really good in 5 different rifles just had to find the lands and jam them.
5 shots at 600 yards would normally run 1.5-2". 20 shot Group in F/class averaged roughly 6-8" depending on how i could read the wind that day
