.300 Win Mag loads... what's your favorite?

Looking for any pet loads for the .300 Win Mag you may have - specifically hunting loads. I'm just getting into reloading and have a new Remington 700 5R that has a 24" 1x10" barrel. I have secured a pound of IMR 4831, two pounds of Retumbo, 100 rounds of primed Federal brass, Federal No.215 Large Magnum rifle primers, A Hornady Classic Lock and Load press with .300 Win Mag die set. I Also bought some trial packs of Berger Hunting VLD's in 190gr and 210gr weights and was given some 190gr and 210gr SMK's and some 208gr AMAX's.

I load 74 grains of IMR4350 CCI magnum primers and a 165 grain bullet. Muzzle velocity from my Browning is 3265 FPS at 15 feet from the muzzle. This is a max load work up to it and Sierra bullets won't stand up at this speed. When I contacted Sierra they told me that their bullets were not designed to be driven that fast.

MINE is 79.3gr of retumbo with a 230 Berger seated long and federal brass. In a 28" barrel they run right over 3000 fps.

165 gr. Swift A-frame. Was a true elk buster for me for many years.

165 hornady sst 4831ssc federal 215 about 1 grain below max in my browning. Should be good for everything up to elk.

Will a 230 berger seated long still fit in a standard length action or is it a true magnum. Magazine or single shot. 28 inch barrel sounds highl specialized.

Thats the load Im in the process of working up to. I use 165 interloks [beeep], but they are being driven too fast as well. The only way I can get away with it is I use this load on the prairie so by the time the bullet hits the deer it doesnt blow up too bad. In the bush for bear and moose I use 180's.

Whats the barrel lenght on the browning?

Yes hybrids and yes a 10 twist savage bas. It's set as a single shot rifle. I just finish a 700 300 win mag that I'm going to look to shoot 175s out of a 27 1/2" barrel looking for start loads for them now
