So I had some 220gr round nose laying around and a little bit of RL22 that I figured needed used up.
I loaded a few today using 66.5gr of powder with CCI 250's in Winchester once fired cases. I was loading to the standard OAL for .300 of 3.34in as I was just going to plink with these a little and maybe wing one at a yote if my .22-250 is borrowed by one of my hunting partners that doesn't own a rifle yet (I have a few).
My question is, when I measure OAL I had about 5 or 6 come in slightly shorter, I believe due to bullet imperfection. The shortest was 3.28 with the others averaging 3.330.
Will these be cause for concern pressure wise? The book max for this load is 2gr fuller than I loaded them.
They are Sierra bullets with info out of the Sierra manual. Im currently shooting up my extra bullets for practice/trigger time, various 165's, 180's and these. I decided to experiment/load 200's for any future hunting and practice use. Any help appreciated!
