308 managed recoil fur damage?

Wondering if anyone has experience w/308 "managed recoil" ammo that Remington offers? Is it gonna tear the heck out of a coyote hide under 100 yds? Also , does that stuff have what it takes to cycle the action in a BAR for example? Just wondering if my 308 coud end up doing predator work.

I would also use your normal deer loads. I'd be in the 165 grain area. A pass-thru in soft tissue shouldn't be that big of a deal. The cycling thing, maybe just try some. A buddy got over $40 each for a few coyotes not long ago, a fair amount higher than expected.

A highly frangible 125 or 130 grain bullet will leave more damage than a firmer bullet with the expected pass-thru. That's the way I see it anyway, of course there are exceptions.

I have a friend who uses it in .308 in an AR platform and it works well. He took a coyote last year on the PM hunt and it did not tear up the pelt at all.

To the question about fur prices, they went to North American Fur auctions in Canada. A report from Jan is available on their website. The furs were trapped & shot, mostly trapped. The prices spiked up recently.
