THAT. it's not fun being "scope poor" when you get another rifle. And you will. even if its just a lowly little .22rimfire

you will lose $$ selling a scope, and pay it again for another. dont sell either.

thanks for all the input from everyone. I have been gone for a while and am just now getting an opportunity to get back on. I did see a few comments that brought up things that i had not yet thought of.

I had not considered really buying a higher price range scope such as zeiss. The main reason is because of finances, i am currently in the process of buying a house so selling one of the scopes was just a better option for me than spending more on another scope or keeping both. I could sell either scope and im pretty positive that i wouldnt lose money on either of them. I do love the zeiss that i have on my 270, i just dont see it as a need right now when i have two scopes that do a fine job and so many other expenses.

I also had not considered the bolt handle hitting the monarch, i will have to check to see if it will clear if i decide to go that route. I do have the cz rings that came with the 527 varmint on there right now. I also have a set of burris rings for it. not sure what the clearance difference between the two are.

lastly im not really worried about the low power as much as the high power. Most of my hunting is done at night in pretty large fields so i usually dont go below 6 power. If i ever need to go below that they will prob be shot with the 1100. I do sometimes like to shoot 300-500 yards just for fun and am not sure how much difference there will be between the 14 and 16 power.

guess after the reading all the comments i have even more to consider, but again thanks to all for the info

I have a Monarch 4-16x42 on a RRA mount I use with two AR uppers, my RRA 223 predator pursuit, and my WOA 6.8SPCII upper. It has been a nice scope that I have hunted with and punched paper. I looked into the buckmaster 6-18x40 about a month ago when Nikon was running that long range special. I wished I would have gone ahead and pulled the trigger because they were priced right.
