40 gr 223 loads

+1 On what Blackhawk43 told you. My gun likes Benchmark,, only it groups well with only 27.3 grains. Start at 27 and go up. Also I have had good luck with IMR 8208 XBR start at 25 and go up to 26.7 grains That is MAX.
With a SIerra,, I looked at a Blitzking, and you can go hotter with 8208 on up to 27 grains. Velocity was about the same on them.
AA2015 N133 ARE good also and I have even used W748 28 grains w/Nosler 40gr BT. The AA and Vhit powders will keep your velocity up, but the Varget and the W748 is about 100-150 FPS slower.
If you go to the 53grain again 25.5 grs of Benchmark has worked real well for me.

Greg, I am glad to see that load. I have plenty of AA2200 and it is faster than a lot of powders.
Velocity wise,,, I don't have a 26" in the 223 but that is still encouraging. What is it like in the heat? It is hovering around the century mark here,, and that is one of the reasons I do like the "extreme" powders VS the ball powders or flake. For example a 50-53 grain with H380 is excellent in the accuracy dept but needs to be kept out of the heat.

I worked it up at 85 degrees. It kills PD's like lighting. I've shot it at 100 degrees and had no problems. Winchester case and Remington 7 1/2 primers. Accurate claims thier powders are pretty temperature tolerant and I have seen nothing to the contrary.

I love 2200. I shoot the snot out if it in my 223 based wildcats.
