Here's what my brother and his 458LOTT Ruger #1 with 500gr. solids does to a groundhog. And a video of one of my buddies shooting it,he wasn't prepared for it.

That looks like road kill!

I shot a rabbit once wwith my 375 RUM. It left it in two piles! It knocked the guts right out of it. I shot the rifle 26 times that day and my shoulder had broken veins. At the last shot I have to admit my eyes were watering.

I saw a box of factory .416 Rigby ammo in the store last winter it was over $200 I think that it was federal. Relaoding would no longer be just an option.

Really scary part ?

You can buy .416 Rigby barrels for a T/C Encore.... PISTOL. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Ya but will they sell you a replacement arm?

i have a 45-70 guide gun and a 7mm rem mag. with factory loads id rather shoot the 45-70. the 7mm just hurts too much. i cannot imagine shooting a 416.
i saw a gut at a club shoot a 484? winchester. the cartridge was as big as my middle finger. he was sitting at a bench, leaning into the gun and when he fired it literally knocked him off the bench onto his back. not my idea of a good time

Hey sweatybetty,
You could always have a muzzle brake put on the 7 mm Rem Mag and make it a cream puff to shoot. I recommend the Vais muzzle brake. I have one on the zebra stripe 416 Rem Mag shown above and on my Rem 700 Classic 375 H&H Magnum. Both rifles feel similar to a 30-06 mild recoil.
