.44 mag brass split

Would there be a specific cause for the brass to split the length of the case in a revolver?. Is it just to thin or inconsistent.
Never seen this before.

I got a couple last round of shooting.

Took a lot of reloadings before I started seeing some though.

I just scrapped out that bunch of brass (split or not) after last round of firing and got new.

Forgot, I mostly Winchester brass, and not white box stuff.

Have seen the Whitebox stuff split in other chamberings.

Maybe their lesser cost stuff is of brass that specs a little from their metallurgical norm (usable but not ideal).

Thanks, This was new Fiochi. Was just poking around and found that others have had the same problem. Some speculate that it is brittle.

Bad brass. I had a bunch of .223 doing the same thing a while back, scrapped the whole batch and haven't had an issue since.

This is puzzeling as I have never had pistol brass split other than nickle, and I load .44mag and .44sp, .38sp. I use white box for the .44mag and Win and mag tech for .44sp in new brass.
Jim
