45 acp for varmints?

I really wanted a pistol, but would need a single action trigger to attain good accuracy, for my hunting purposes. At that rate, I'd be looking at $600 or more, to get 1" groups at 20 yards.

Anyway, I purchased a Henry lever-action .22 Mag. and have installed a Barska 4x12x50 on it. I thought about replacing the orginal sights with a set from Williams, but the scope is so darn accurate that it's hard to take it off. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Here are some pictures of the groups the my new Henry rifle shot, today. It performed very well with both Federal 50gr. JHP and Winchester 40gr. JHP ammo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Also, I made no sight adjustments between the different brands of ammo.
The groundhogs are not going to be happy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice lookin rifle. That will put an end to any of the critters your after for sure. And it looks like its not lacking anything in the accuracy department either, which is always a good thing of course.Be sure to post pics when you get the first kill with your new rifle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Thanks, I've admired the Henry rifles for some time. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Unfortunately, my first kill was a groundhog, yesterday evening and the shot to the back of the head left quite a graphic sight (blood every where). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Not the best of condition for a picture, but it was about 12 lbs. of soy bean killing machine. The Henry rifle sent him to that big groundhog hole in the sky. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
