45 degree red dot mount cause problems with ejection?

I'm planning on putting a Burris FastFire III on an offset Weaver mount and wondering if ejected cases will hit the glass and damage it. I'm gonna place it on the last few rails on the upper receiver towards the charging handle behind my regular scope mount. It looks like it could, but I don't see how it's any different from a Warne Ramp mount...unless they are usually placed enough forward. Thanks for any help.

Saw a couple of them mounted that way at the PM convention and didn't hear any talk of trouble. The guys over at Specialized Dynamics seem to have pretty good luck with that setup.

I ran one of these like you say, ejected brass would hit the scope, i put a piece of sticky rubber to it, but after trying it for a few weeks, every once and a while it would throw the spent brass back in the port jamming the action....it did it 2 times that was enough for me,i took it off, it is a great idea though, i could get on target with blazing speed in close and have my scope for further out?????? you can put it on the left, but it feels awarkard... i give up on it, however a lazer might work since it's smaller???????let us know if you get a good set up.....

I have a Burris Fast Fire 2 mounted on a Predator Tactical 45 deg mount on my Specialized DYnamics 166in .223rem flat top. I have not had any problem with ejected brass hitting the mount or scope. I too have mounted my sight on the last slot on my rail. However, I also mounted it on the left side of the gun for a while, which required less head movement. I bumped into too many things so I remounted it to the right side.
