I was fortunate enough to find a 458 socom upper before deer season thanks to FireRescue02 and http://www.dandtarms.net/
I can't say enough good things about D and T. They where very honest and had great prices.
The bullet I am using is the 405 grain from outlaw bullets. The bullets have worked very well out of my gun. The only complaint I have is that sometimes the jacket will come apart from the lead. This doesn't always happen and when it doesn't I have had weight retention as high as 383 grains. Penetration is on the deer below was a complete pass through taking part of the leg bone and ribs with it.
The blood on the side of this deer is from splatter when the bullet hit the front leg. There was nothing left of the heart on this deer. Amazingly enough the deer ran 30 yards.
As a side note I shot a buck a couple weeks ago on a pass through a little higher hitting both shoulders and it went about 3ft straight down.
This round is very impressive on the range I managed to have very consistent hits using the BDC 250 out to over 300 yards at 1.65 power on the scope. The sound of impact at that range is very impressive and delayed.
