I'd go 223 if you plan to use it as a target gun and want to reload all your ammo. . Otherwise 5.56.

+1 on the .223 Wylde, I've never had a malfunction with mine shooting 5.56 or .223

Might want to make sure you have one in .223, 5.56 and Wylde just to be safe. Can never have enough!
Then you will want one, or three, in different calibers also! Don't ask how I know!
