Got to the farm and was set up by 4:45 pm, with a cold, strong wind blowing almost straight into my face. Not ideal for comfort, but perfect for keeping my scent back. I started running a dying rabbit sound on and off, and after a while I spotted a big coyote coming in from about 250 yards out.

He took his time working his way in, stopping and sitting a few times, trying to figure things out I guess.
When he hit around the 100 yard mark, he suddenly turned 90 degrees, giving me a broadside shot. I let out a loud “WOLF,” which stopped him in his tracks. I took the shot, heard the solid thump, and watched him do the spin of death.

I stayed on stand and ran pup distress for a few more minutes hoping another one might show, but nothing else came in. With the cold wind still cutting, I packed it up and called it a night.
