I shoot them exact bullets through my .223 ritualy!
In the last 3 years using them hunting i have had only 1 blowout with that particular bullet. low belly shot /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I have shot several between 50 to 300 yards. Here is a pic of that particular coyote.

I worked for Sierra Bullets in the early 80's. The match bullets used a little thicker jacket and harder lead.

The 52's were the best sellers at that time. They were not intended for hunting, but again Sierra didn't really go out and test them on critters either.

Their 53gr HP is a very accurate bullet too!! Don't underestimate flat base bullets for long range accuracy.

We know their recommendation on that was incorrect by all the field experience listed here. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

The blitz style had thinner jackets and softer lead to allow for quick expansion.

Hey CV32, I am at 35grs of H4895 right now. The groups are nice and round and hanging at or a little below 1/2". Provided I didn't have too much coffee, lol.

Thanks, I'll try that. I have a thousand or so of these 52 gr match bullets waiting to be loaded. I had a good load for my .223, but I've yet to try them in the .22-250.
