55gr NBT in the 243. Favorite powder?

I tried Varget and Benchmark powders with the Nosler 55 gr BT Lead Free bullets in my 243 Win.

The Benchmark loads grouped much better than the Varget loads did. I went with 39.0 gr of Benchmark.

I worked up the exact load on my Stevens in .243. Indeed, very accurate with 55 grainers.

I'm shooting 43gr IMR 3031. 4000fps, dime size groups.

Edit: I should probably mention 55gr lead free and they are mollied.

Bunch that can work well. H380 and Varget are the two I have had the best luck with so far though. The H380 has been good for a solid 4000 fps in a 22" barrel.

I run 50 grains of h380 in my sons 243 it produces right at 4 grand from a 22" barrel. Its pretty much a full case load at that charge.

I use 45.5 gr of Varget, with Nosler 55 gr bullets, norma brass, and WLR primers. These are on the hot side (so be careful), but they are scratching at the door of 4000 fps, and they shoot clover leaves all day long. I could probably get better groups if I really tried, but heck I'm not shooting competition, I'm shooting for dead coyotes. And believe me, they absolutely do a number on a coyote. My buddy and I both shoot the exact same load, and they shoot amazing out of both rifles.
