6.5 creedmoor factor load ammo???

So don't beat me up too much I know reloading is way better but right now I don't have the time or the stuff to reload.
Ok so I just got a Ruger precision in a 308 bought a long rifles inc 26" 6.5 barrel I'm having put on next week. I have no idea what factory ammo to shoot. I will be hunting coyotes with it and other critter that my AR can't reach out to.
Brand, grain and so on also why. I hopefully plan on saving the brass an reloading next year but not this year.

Try a box of 123 and 140g, your rifle will choose which one it will like. Invest in first class cleaning equipment and a rod guide.

Good cleaning rod, brushes, patches, bore solvent and copper solvent along with a good holder for the rifle while cleaning.

I suggest Dewey, pro shot, Tipton, cleaning rods...pick

Sinclair brushes, and a good brushe is good for 100 strokes, throw them away, buy two dozen at a time
1 3/4" patches
I use Montana Extreme cleaning products because they are an oil based
Bore solvent
Copper killer
Copper cream(liquid JB)
Lighter fluid-run a patch of this through the bore when you are done as it dilutes any solvent left in the barrel, and cleans up the chamber

Something to clean and dry the chamber with, pistol cleaning kit with large wool mops to clean the chamber or large patches on pistol brushes.

My neighbor has the same rifle you have, and it is a dandy. Pay to get the rifle bedded and freefloat the magazine box. His rifle shoots the factory 123 and 140 A max into small groups. I clean his rifles for him as he has the most sensitive nose you can imagine. The ruger has a very good barrel and needs de coppering about every 65 shots or so, I realize that yours is a custom. He has a 6x24 Vortex on it.

Ask your gunsmith how much freebore the reamer has on it, this is important to know for bullet choice as the 140g VLD's like .169-.199 freebore.

If your chamber as .129 freebore, then stick with the 130g bullets and below to avoid pressure spikes.

Go with the Hornady ammo using the 140 A-Max.
Not sure if they are already using the bullet that is replacing the AMax yet

even if they changed to the ELD-M from the amax i doubt they're going to change the load. Tech@hornady confirmed for me that the only change to the bullet is the material the tip is constructed from. Otherwise they're just amax with a new hat if you will.

thats why the ELD-X got load data published on the web and no updates were made for the ELD-M.

so other than the long range BC difference, it should otherwise perform the same

Thanks a lot guys! I'm super excited about shooting this new Ruger precision 6.5 it's been 6 months waiting.
Hopefully in the next couple weeks it will be all done an setup an ready to start punching paper to see if the gun is all its talked up to be. An thanks again
 
Before I could find brass locally for my creedmoor I was shooting the Hornady 129 grain sst factory stuff and got great little groups with it.
