If you have data where you have tested the 6.8 and can disprove the claims post it. When you insinuate we are ignorant and you know better when we have actually designed the chamber and buttons for the barrels and spent thousands of hours building and testing you will get a response. You are on the outside looking in through a foggy window, in a year or two you will see the clear picture. As I said before we are in this for one reason, to get the best weapon for the troops.
Any bets Barnes releases a 85gr TSX to the public in a month or 2? The initial purchase to get Barnes to make the 85TSX was from SSA who loaded it for the FBI, now SSA is selling it and soon Barnes will offer it for public sale.
Every gun manufacturer in the country knows the BP is looking to purchase 10k rifles, they may have already.
And yes someone notified me of the thread and thought I should point out a few facts.
They really should have PMs here, but it's a nice forum.
I have had 3 6.5s,it's a great target and even a varmint/hunting round with 100gr Noslers but, IMO it just does not feed well enough FA to be a combat round.
To be honest a 6.8 isn't my choice as a elk or long range deer rifle either, I did it to prove a point. On hogs and deer in brushy areas 200yds and under is a different story,
sometimes a quick follow up shot is needed and the semi auto allows that. On top of that guys can buy 1 AR and use it for home defense and hunting.
