6 Arc or Chop my .243

Nope. Given the same barrel length and bullet, the 243 is always going to be a few hundred FPS faster. It's just a function of burning like 25% more powder, however, at the cost of increased recoil.
Yes, at a certain point, a long 6 ARC may match a short 243 Win, but that's part of the trade-off.

I would get a 6 ARC, but don't cheap out on the barrel. I know opinions are mixed, but I wouldn't buy a thing from BCA.
Thats false a 243 uses 30% more powder for 10% more then a 6arc…..

Since getting my suppressor, I'm in the process of getting my rifles threaded. I currently have a Ruger M77 .243. In order to have it threaded, with enough shoulder, it will need to be cut from 22" down to about 17"-18". I won't be selling the rifle either way, as I shot my first deer with it. However, my daughter is old enough to hunt deer this year and is quite recoil shy, hence needing a suppressed gun. Question is, does the loss in 4" of barrel on the .243 lead to enough velocity loss to warrant buying a 6 Arc upper instead? I have the lower and would be willing to take the chance on an inexpensive BCA upper.
If the M77 shoots well there is no way I'm cutting the barrel down to 17-18”.
Next you said your daughter is recoil shy which I fully understand. However I never knew suppressors to suppress recoil only noise .

Now understand most statements on recoil reduction with suppressors is "felt" recoil or perceived recoil.
Not actual measurements. Muzzle brakes are highly effective but loud, which maybe as much a detractor as the recoil itself to the shooter.

I have not noticed a reduction in recoil , but if you believe it that’s all that matters.

Agree Sir... Whole heartily
I know some whom are of the opinion that a brake is the only answer. I would not dare say they are wrong (LOL just prefer to be several bench down from them).
Personally I do think there is a perceived recoil reduction for myself.
There are caliber that my daughter says she doesn't notice a reduction. Can't say she is wrong.

Cut the .243 IMHO. If you're already use to .243 speed, you'll be happier... I love my Arc's, but it's their ability to run in a gas gun. They turn AR's up a notch. But if your gonna do a bolt get a 6 creed or chop your .243

I have a Rem Model 7 in .243. It has a 18.5” pencil barrel. I had it threaded and use an Omega 300 on it. Shooting Sako 100 gr factory ammo, I averaged 2,770 over my chrono. I use it mostly for deer hunting out of tree stands.

BTW, suppressors definitely reduce recoil with or without a brake.
