Hey guys I did a couple of searches but could not get anything I know this has been discussed. What are some loads that work well in your 6mm mine is a older remy with a short sporter barrel. Finally got went through all the factory ammo I had they were remington cor-locs 100gr they shoot pretty darn good. I plan on shooting 95 nosler BT I tried some 70 gr tnt but the result was awful!!! Thanks Nolan

For powder I used 4064 (IMR) bullets...mine shot speer 75gr HP well and Hornady 100gr SP really well.
Mine was a custon job....

Sounds like the same rifle that I've had for years. Like Rotty, I've found IMR 4064 to work very well. There are others that I'm sure would work well also. I used the 60 gr. Nosler BT's quite a bit and 70 grain Barnes X's. The thing has always been a great shooter.

I've got an old Remington 788 in a Bishop stock. I've always shot 80 gr. Powr-Lokt Hollow Points using 47.0 gr. of IMR-4350. With a 100 gr. Core-Lokt I used 43.5 gr. of IMR-4350. I tried Sierra 85 gr. HPBT in it once, and they shot very nicely. I can't remember the powder or charge, though. BOTH OF THESE LOADS ARE LISTED AS MAXIMUM IN VARIOUS MANUALS, SO START SEVERAL GRAINS LOWER AND WORK UP!

I have tried h-380 and 70 gr tnt no way - varget with 95 gr bt but have not got to shoot this load yet. Thanks any other advice is greatly appreciated!!

The absolute best 3-shot group I've fired in my life was a 95 NBT over RL22 from my 6mm Rem with 26" barrel. It measured .09". This was at a bit over 3100 fps.

My current antelope load is the 95 NBT over a very healthy dose of H4350. It's not quite as accurate (~.75") as the RL22, but it gains a good bit of speed over it. To me, this is the best mix of accuracy/velocity for the plains where I hunt antelope.

I hit a buck behind the shoulder with it last October @ 277 yards, and I think he was dead before the bullet blew through the other side. Even in a 30 mph wind, I actually heard the bullet strike ribs. The load performed impressively.

43g of IMR 4350 with a 95g Partition is very accurate in my guns.

Max load of IMR 4064 with the 80's and 75's are extremely accurate.

max load of Win 760 with the 60g Sierra is fast, 3900 fps and extremely accurate, great coyote round!

You didn't say what you would be mostly shooting at. If the 100gr bullets work best in your gun then I would stick with them. You said it was an older Remmy with a short barrel. Would that be a Remington 600? I have one like that and only liked 100gr bullets. I have since pulled the factory barrel and replaced it with a Shilen. Either barrel I had best results with IMR4350. Current load is 48gr 4350 and 75gr Sierra HP. Great coyote load.

I will be shooting mostly coyotes with this round and I am really not into saving the hides. With the cost of reloading. I was trying to find the best load for the least money!! Thanks guys

I have been using the 6mm Remington since 1971 and the best powder i have used is Win 760. My current varmint and deer load is the Hornady 87 gr BTHP with Win 760. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
