I think it's easier to neck a case down .020" in a sizing die than it is to use an expander ball to open one up .020+". Necking down the case, the neck is always straight with the body, running an expander in the neck always opens the thin side more than the thick side of the neck making it crooked. I use a tapered expander to open up 220 Russian to make 6PPC brass, otherwise you can crush some of the brass necks trying to use a ball expander, the kind you find in a RCBS die set. Neither 6MM Rem or 7x57 or 8x57 are easy to find.
