Great receiver for your build. Stock options are almost unlimited. Check out boyds rifle stocks if you like wood. If you like synthetic stocks bell & carlson make some very nice stocks also. As far as barrels go check out these two guys, they are brother inlaws I believe but they do awesome work at a very reasonable price and they chamber any savage prefit caliber you could ever want.

You need to give Ritch a call. I'll post up my Black Hole 6X45 groups I shot out ig my Savage the last two weeks. I think working with him your pocket book will be in good shape and the performance will be more than adequate.

I cant see where Ritch does any work on bolt guns

Ritch does not work on them per.se. He sells pre-fit barrels like the Savage. They don't require much smithing. I'll have some stuff up later today.

Do you know if he does the "remage" prefits as well? Thanks.

I do believe he does sell them. A phone call on those should be a good discussion with Ritch.

What this cartridge does on 24gr of powder is impressive. For what your intended purpose, I think a Bart 2B or #3 Brux would fit nicely. Personally, I would put it in a McM Hunter, but the wood is a nice touch as well. I run the Amax around 2700 FPS and think an 87 gr Vmax would impress.
105 Amax @ 2700fps from a 20" barrel seems a bit "HOT" to me.
Mike
What charge and velocity do run them at?
I don't shoot that cartridge, I was commenting on what you said. You said that you run 105gr Amax around 2700.
Well I took the advice of "GLShooter" and "5spd" and got in touch with Ritch. Through e-mails, texts and a phone call I will be placing an order for one of his BHW barrels. What a great guy to deal with. Answered all my questions and came out a lot more educated than when I started. So thanks for the help and I am sure i'll have more questions about this build and also the reloading aspects of it also. Gary
I finally got some time to get some pics uplaoded on my 6X45 Black Hole barrel from Ritch. I'm not near the shooter that many of the guys on here but these barrels make me look good.
The first is just a pair of long loads I wanted to try as I do shoot a 6X45 in matches out to 500 at times. This is a 1:8 twist 26" BTW. I was forming up brass with these. My cut out magazines and the lower that Ritch designed will let me shoot these in an AR from the magazine BTW.
Second loading on the brass using some more conventional coyote bullets at a normal length so I could run them in my AR's along with the bolt gun.
