6mm Creedmoor recommendation?

My 6 creed is an Aero solus action, aero solus barrel I had my smith flute and cut down to 20 inches. Running 105 berger vlds at 2980. I do depredation services for farmers and have dropped a ton of whitetails with this one. My son has the fartherest shot at 924.6 yards with this little beauty!

I second the the Seekins advice, I have two Element Hunters. A short action .308 and I had a 6 Creedmoor 16.5" barrel made for it, and a long action 7mm BC on order.

I have a Ruger Predator gen 2. First thing I did was put it in a Magpul chassis, then a Timney trigger. I put a AGM Thermal on it and have it suppressed. I like it much better than when I first bought it. Very accurate with factory ammo. I will start reloading for it next week..

I’m thinking about putting together a 6mm CM bolt action set up for coyote hunting. Thinking something in the 1:7 to 1:8 twist range. Mostly bench rest shooting from the blind. Opportunities out to 800 yards are possible (shooting over a remote frozen lake). What’s out there off the shelf vs who to talk to for a build? I will likely be putting a ATN Thor 5 LRF 4x32 thermal on it for an optic.
Recipe for accidentally shooting deer (or worse) at night right there. Long range Opportunity to end up in a courtroom.

Thankfully, about the only reason a deer would be on the lake ice at night is if a coyote were chasing it. Deer tend to stay in the deer yards in the winter around me. I'll take my chances.

Anybody that thinks 800 yards at night and ATN thermal is reasonable is already half way to getting in serious trouble. Deer isn't really what I'd be worried about. Just saying...

I appreciate your concern- but where I hunt is ~20 miles from the nearest town and people only drift through about 1-2 times a month on snowmobile, so people being on the ice in the middle of the night aren’t really a major concern. And I ended up going with a Nocpix thermal. 600-800 would be daytime shots. 400 and under is probably more realistic at night w/ thermal. Though with that said, while looking through my scope I could clearly make out two deer feeding at 300 yards and my neighbors dog at ~500 yards last night without issue. Realistically- most of my shots will be over bait at 200-250 yards.

I took a Sig Cross and rebarelled it with a Proof CF 18” in 6cm. It has turned out to be the most accurate rifle I own.

No town within 20 miles, a few drifters passing through, yet you have a neighbor and his dog 500 yards away?

PFFFTTTT 6mm Creedmoor !!!!!!!!!!
Get a 6mm Remington Ackley Improved!!!
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Ok humor aside..... (although I do use the 6mm AI)..
twist why not go the same as my Ackley and do the 1-7.5" twist. (you being Maine the 1-7" maybe best it's cold up there, and the fast twist maybe to your advantage)

The CM is a good choice IMHO, more efficient than my 6mm AI in terms of powder to FPS.
There is quite a few chamberings that closely rival the .244 Rem/6mm Rem/ 6mm Rem AI.
The CM does sit there closely just like the .243 Win and the .243 Win AI.
Outside the twist my response was meant to be parody and humor to a degree.
The caliber choice is solid I think for your intents, according to Sierra's load data the 6mm CM is only 100-200 fps slower than the 6mm AI with 6 grains less powder (H4350). About the same for the faster than the .243 AI (quickload).
