6mm Mongoose?

Yes that is right. I don't wear spurs but this ain't my first rodeo. (VBG)

Thanks for walking me through this guys. 6x45 seems like the obvious way to go for now. I think the 6 tcu short could still have a purpose, one day I might even tinker with it just to see.

The one factoid I learned when gathering data for my upcoming book was that the 6X45 was SAAMI's several years ago. It wears the mantle of a wildcat but is not one in reality. LOL

As I mentioned this board has a huge educational/experiential cross section. All a guy has to do is tap into it.

Those guys with the 6mm Mongoose are on the right track I think, but they didn't shorten the case enough. By my estimation they could make it an even 1.650" and still have a half grain more capacity than the 6x45 as well as being able to seat 99 percent of the 6mm bullets short enough to run through ANY AR mag. The draw back would be the case trimming and fire forming. Not a big deal for 100 cases or so, but a little much for a 1000 round prairie dog shoot.
