6v Bulb for a Wheat Light?

Hey guys, this is my first post and I hope I'm in the right section here. I've been lurking around here for awhile and really like what I see, it seems as though there are a lot of knowledgeable hunters on here, so maybe someone can help me out with the following question.

I have an old Wheat light laying around minus the battery and a spare 6v 4.5 amp battery from my Nite Lite that wont hold a charge for more than 2-2.5 hours burn time. I am in the process of rigging up a mount to mount the light on my .17 so I can switch it on when a critter comes within range. My question is does anyone know of a bulb that will work with this combination of a wheat light and a 6v battery? I found one, a 10564 I believe, but I'm not sure if it will work with the head I have. Any input here? Its an old Wheat, probably from the 70's and I am assuming its a 5100 style. Oh yeah and the brighter the bulb the better, battery life isnt much of an issue here because I will only have the thing on for a couple on minutes. Thanks for any help you can give me here.

Bucksquirrely, Welcome first of all. I don't know if this guy ships via the mail of even does mail orders or not but I'd ask anyhow he's a very nice old man. Try Rays Hunting supply here in Meigs County ohio at 740-742-2656. He at one time was going to hook me up with the same setup. He has batteries and bulbs. He's even got red and amber lenses to fit over the wheat light.

If you want to save that battery and "re-energize" it then check this type of charger out. Paluse Tech - for battery's

I have one of these and must say that it does work very well. I have a battery in one of my spotlights that is now 16 yrs old. It's a 6v and the burn time has now been increased since I've hooked it up to this charger.

Check it out!

I called this gentleman and he was a big help, looks as though I need a BM30 bulb, Thanks for the quick reply.

As far as the charger goes Coyote Control, I'm not overly concerned with recovering the battery, I can get them for about 6 or 7$ a piece, so its no big deal when one craps out on me, thanks the the info though. And thanks to all of you for giving me some insight here.

Did he seem a little confused as to how he got a call from PA?

Ha, yeah he did actully, He told me to stop down and pick one up, I said ok, see you in about 7 to 8 hours, and then I proceeded to tell him I was in PA. He was a little confused I think.
