70gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or 70gr Sierra Blitzking

Building a 20in barrel 6mm Creedmoor as kind of a shorter barreled medium distance coyote gun.

The two bullets I'm considering shooting is either the 70gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or 70gr Sierra Blitzking. I am not a pelt saver so carnage and bigger the holes the better.

I imagine either will do a fine job of making them DRT but I thought I'd ask if any of you have a preference between the two.

Used to shoot a fair amount of 40gr Nosler BT's in my 223 and they always seemed to shoot very well and did a pretty good job of killing stuff. Haven't shot many Blitzkings though.
 
I shoot the blitzkings in 2 calibers, 32gr in my 20 practical and the 70 gr in my 6x45.
Super accurate in both. Limited kills with both but I have not had a pass thru in either.
I suspect you will probably SEE more damage with the noslers as they are a tougher bullet and are likely to pass through. The internal damage with the blitzkings is impressive, its something you cant see from the outside. These are my experiences.
 
After shooting both brands in .22-250's over a couple decades, I've found the Nbt's to shoot more accurate in more guns.
I've had a couple .223 rifles that shot the Blitzkings well that also shot the Noslers well.
The Noslers are much tougher and generally more expensive except for the random sale.
 
I love those 70 grain Noslers! I shoot them exclusively in both of my 6x47 Lapuas and my 6mm Fat Rat AR. They are actually pretty decent on pelts. The only blow up I’ve had is from one I shot in the neck.

When I was doing load development work with my .243 AI I found the Nosler Varmageddon 70 grain to shoot super good in my gun. A pleasant surprise too as they were cheaper than most. They work well at launching hapless rock chucks at impressive distances too. You may want to pick up a box of them and see how well they work for you.

RD, were you reading my mind again? I was just looking at that particular bullet. lol

I already have 500 70gr BT's sitting on the shelf because I was going to try them in my 6-284 but then never did because the 75gr Vmax shot so well in that rifle so I'd kinda like to try and use up a little of the extra crap I already have, but those other 70 grainers could certainly be a good option and they'd probably work be an excellent PD bullet for their added explosiveness over the BT's.

Now I just have to dial in on a powder. H4350 seems to be one of "the" powders for the 6 CM but I've also talked to a few Creedmoor shooters that used RL16 because it gave them a little boost in velocity. Decisions, decisions.....
 
Blitzkings shot a hair better for me in my 6xc but both were very good. Blitzkings have worked very well for me on coyote, the noslers did to but blew up more hides.
 
I've been shooting some 90 gr Nosler Varmageddon bullets in my 6.5 Grendel. They're great so far, very accurate and knock a BIG hole in a coyote. Their tech said the Varmageddons have a thinner jacket that the regular bullets. And they are much cheaper. I would definitely give them a try.
