7mm rem mag antelope loads

I've shot plenty of animals, muleys, whitetails, black bears and elk. I've used a lot of different cals and bullets over the years as well to base my own opinion. Always looking for that perfect combo. A 30 cal 180g SP through the ribs, guaruntee you aint eating up to the hole, thats all I'm saying...

Only reason I haven't shot many antelope because here in the great $hithole state of Oregon it takes 10 years or MORE to draw a freaking tag! Wished I lived in Montana or Wyoming to hunt them every year, you guys are lucky...

Yes, we're pretty fortunate to be here in montana. Use to live in Astoria but found my spot here. Good luck though on drawing a tag.

$hithole state of Oregon? What a brown noser. Up until now I couldn't figure out how to describe the state on the internet without getting censored! Good choice of words. We are this way because our F&G is run by politions and game manager's are ignored! I got an Antelope tag once! Just once!

Bummer I get a license every year here in CO and so do friends and family. Most often buck licenses at that. Not many trophies but we are hunting every year.

Maybe luck to get drawn for antelope every year, but it has been 8 years since I have got a deer license.... still waiting.
Tell me you have to wait 8-10 years for a deer tag.

You apply for a deer license in CO and it takes 8 years or more to draw a license ? Thank god for landowner vouchers.

I opted for unsubscribed areas to go more often and work alittle harder...but thats just me.

Nah, pretty much get a buck tag every year, depending on what unit you apply for. I've only not drawn a buck tag once in 11 years. Doe tags are about every 2-4 years, the orchards which is a late season rifle hunt, considered a doe tag, but you can shoot a buck, has to be a whitetail, use to take 4 years to get, now its up to 8-9 years, lol ridiculous. Use to be able to buy a 2nd season spike tag for most areas over the counter, nope not anymore, gotta put in for that to. Decent spring black bear unit, every 3-4 years. Decent big bull tag anywhere from 6-12 years. Antelope, like I said is 10+ years. Just keeps getting worse and worse and worse, and we still cant bait or run hounds for all these stupid bears and cougars.

Don Fischer, you like that huh?? LOL, didn't take me very long to think of it either, right off the top of my head actually. I"m really beginning to dislike this state more and more every year when it comes time to putting in for tags, only thing I ever draw is a buck tag, and I spend dam near $50 putting in for everything, gets real old. Took me 11 years to draw my big bull tag. Cannot wait to get the hel outta here.

We have landownder preference as well, but thats only for deer and elk, not antelope.

Oregon is getting pretty bad only thing I draw is a deer tag.then they just raise the taxs and still say thier broke Idaho or montana don't sound to bad.

Work up to 69.0 reloader 22 over 120 Nosler Ballistic tip.
Last goat I shot with this load was a neck shot at 325 yd.
Bullet hit neck bone and made a very clean kill.
May be just luck - you be the judge.

Sounds like a good load. And refreshingly ON TOPIC I might add!!

Nothing wrong with Retumbo, or the 150g NBT or the 162g AMAX in the 7 mag for antelope or deer for that matter, neither are hard to kill...

Real question is, hows it shoot for you??

I get better accuracy and ES with H1000 then Retumbo with the 162g AMAX in my 7 RM. I only gained 25fps with Retumbo over H1000 and my groups were double, still MOA, but I'll take 1/2 MOA and 25fps less with single digit ES with H1000 anyday... Your rifle might be different, as well as the next guys...
