I've had one since 1996, bought new, and I've never had an once of problem with. I've put thatthing through hell and back duck hunting, chukar hunting, pheasant hunting, grouse hunting, etc. It's been a reliable as any gun I've ever owned. For a 12 gauge with a 3.5" chamber that can be readily found just a hair under $300, I'd say mine's been a great value. Having that said, it's no beauty queen and it's heavier than I'd prefer. But it's still my workhorse shotgun; reliable and up to the task.
Is a 3.5 necessary? I don't know that it is. I wanted something to handle big loads for geese, cranes and swans. However, I don't know that it has any more "stopping power" than a 3". Sure have been a heck of a lot of big birds fall to guns chambered 2.75" and 3". If you do shoot 3.5" shells, make sure you're wearing a heavy coat or two. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
