Hey, I'm not trying to bash the gun or anyone's womanish feelings. I have one, and I like it. I've also had a plain old 870 in the past. The parts are cheeper. The shotgun is not the same quality MATERIALLY. Period. SURE parts are interchangeable(if the 870 had a 3.5" chamber). So yes. The mechanical design is the same. The tolerances, finish, and performance of those parts don't compare. Its like trying to say a rem 700 is comparable to a BAT. Its just not the same class.

It is still a solid shotgun.

Browning could justify that if they charged by the pound for the BPS. I really like the BPS, but they need to put that girl on a diet.

Guys I own a old 870 Wingmaster LW mag 20 gauge.... It's a dern good shotgun! The super mag I looked at felt just as good in the hands, I just couldn't bring my self to buy it over the shorter BPS. I'd been looking at a short shotgun and was set out to buy a 21 inch M1 nelly, but after buying a BR rifle and shooting a thousand round thru it this summer I just couldn't afford it. I might even pass on the bps if my kicks chokes for my bakail sxs will get here soon

Hey on that bakail note, my uncle gave me one of those ugly over and unders. He said that it kicked too hard. That cheap thing patterns as well at 40 yards as my red label with briley chokes.
