940nm IR and PVS-14

Skypup, that's a great view for sure. I love Gen 3 stuff. The problem for me at least, is the cost of the PVS-14 and the illuminator vs my $102 bullet camera, $28 lens and the 940nm spot light at around $80, plus a cheap $25 monitor. For slightly over $200 I could have a system that would work plenty good enough, and actually more than needed.

Thanks for sharing that. It sure does look good. I really like the view.

Awesome review 6mm06.Always interested with what you have going on,and appricate a non bias assessment!
I have been wanting to do a review on my Gen2+ HD clip on.Reviews like this make me want to kick it in gear and get it done!

Thanks Overwatcher. I always try to be non-biased and just call it as I see it. Sometimes others may have different results and that's OK too. Good discussion helps everyone.

I am anxious to hear about your Gen 2 clip on. Which one do you have?

Be sure to get a review posted soon. Inquiring minds want to know.

Now using the pvs-14 could uou use a longer range ir and have similar results Iv thought about getting one for a scope mount but most of my shooting is 100-200+ yards at night.

I don't know about a longer range IR. I have no experience with using one, but maybe others can jump in on that subject. I found the LLTL-001 (T20 similar) to throw out a lot of light up close, actually too much, but at longer range the monocular could use a bit more light. I do know there are T-30's and T-50's and I think there is even a T-60 or similar, so I am just assuming for longer ranges one of these would work a bit better. Again, I have no experience, just guessing.
