A .20 Practical upper is next - where to get it?

Looking for some suggestions on where to get my next AR upper. I know it will be a .20 Practical but I don't know who/where I'm getting it from yet.

I probably won't need it until May/June as I want to take it with me if I get to go on a Prairie Dog hunting trip.

I just need suggestions on who/where to get one from.

Thanks.

Trevor

I meant 20 Practical, just got ahead of myself while typing again. The wife was distracting me again. Something about dishes in the sink and the dishwasher.

I see they offer a 20 Practical in a 1-10 twist but I wonder if I can get a 1-12 twist? Wouldn't a 1-12 twist be better suited for the 32-40 gr bullets?

I'm going to ask him about it next time I talk to him for sure.

I have been considering trying that. I might have to do a little more research on what all is involved in building one myself.

If you can change a lawn mower blade, putting together the upper is no problem. If you have a vice, you will need an armor's wrench, receiver block and torque wrench. Literally all that is just to tighten your barrel nut to a spec'd torque. It will literally take less than ten minutes to accomplish. If you haven't already, check it out on YouTube.

If you are planning to shoot the 50s, be sure to let the barrel supplier know so the chamber can be cut for them...

Ok, thanks.

I would give john at WOA a call. The 20pr that I got from him shoots lights out. You might have to wait longer than a bhw upper but IMO it will be well worth the wait. Mine is a 20in varmint upper and balances very well.

I recommend a 1/11" twist. I built one last year, every brand bullet from the 32g to 40g was under .500" @ 100 yds...this was a bolt gun though....sold it already for another "have to have" build.

White Oak Armament is who made my 20 practical and no complaints here. A barrel/upper is only as good as the load you work up for it.

The 1:10 is good on the Practical I shoot. The weight range covers about all any of us use. The cartridge just wants to shoot.
