A boar and a coyote

Went to the lease early this morning. Camera showed hogs were coming before daylight.

When I got there there was a boar and raccoon steady there. I shot the boar and drug him a little ways away from the feeder and then got into my stand. 5 minutes later a coyote came out. Shot at him and thought I hit him but he ran to the right.

Waited for daylight and the raccoon came back but didn’t shoot him but wanted to since they Jack with my feeders wires.

Daylight came but this feeder didn’t go off although the one in the other direction did. Didn’t see anything else so got down about 7:30 to see if could find the coyote. No coyote, no blood.

After watching the video back, looks like I missed the coyote low. Did I see the bullet kick dust behind?

Anyway, turns out the feeder timer time was set to pm instead of am, so my 5:15 evening feeding time was throwing at 5:15 in the morning and my 6:45 morning time was actually evening. Got that fixed, changed batteries and headed home before it got too hot.

Girth measurement was 31 inches so around 110 pounds.

Doesn't look like you missed that coyote to me. Crosshairs were right where they belong when the shot broke. I think that "dust" you see right after the shot was the thermal catching warm blood spray. I say it's dead in the woods somewhere.

good shot on the hog... looks like to me you hit the coyote also, he bowed up when he was hit. when they fall they get scary flat and hard as heck to find. congrats on a good hunt

Yeah I thought he was hit in real time but didn’t find blood or coyote, but we have had amidst no rain for 6 weeks ground is dusty dry.

Maybe I just couldn’t find him. Looked for about 75 yards all in the direction he rain a then it go real thick, and was already hot.

Thought it ran as hit also. I have found a couple liw chest hits via buzzards that made it 150-200yds with baseball sized holes.
