That is nice! I used to buy quite a bit from A.G. Russell but oddly enough have never bought one of their home branded knives. I have always had good buying experiences with them, never a bad transaction.
Being a big fan of CSC and a sucker for the Barlow pattern it's a good thing it isn't made of carbon or even A2 cause I'd be eating ramen noodles again this month.
Back on topic,,, my only AGR is that little WoodsWalker I brag on all the time. Their Japanese made stuff really don't give up much to similarly priced US brands and are head and shoulders above the rest of the far east imports IMO.
Don't know much about stainless but the WoodsWalker appears to be made of AUS-8 which seems to be pretty well thought of on the knife forums.
Yea,,, it performs about like carbon in the fur shed but again "I'm not an authority on SS".
It's a handy little knife regardless of steel though and even though the price has gone up allot since I used to buy em, it's still a bargain IMO.
You know, you got me to thinkin' (and you know how dangerous that can be
)
I need a companion knife to my BRKT Canadian Special. I already have the sheath for it "piggybacked" on to CS sheath. Maybe a little AGR? Something precise but I want it to handle skinning and caping if needed.
That might work for you. I've skinned several Coyotes in the field with one (back legs tied to a fence post NV style LOL) so I know it's up for that task.
The handle color matches too but I'm not sure what it's made of. Some kind of hard plastic's my guess. No lanyard tube either if that matters.
Heck, just buy one and see how ya like it. They're "relatively" cheap and if nothing else you can throw it in the camp box or use it in the kitchen.
FWIW,,, I'm thinking about rehandling mine with some of that Cocobolo I recently scored. Maybe even throw some brass liners in. I like the way my DT with the brass liners turned out so much I think I'll make it my trademark
