A little summer time doe patrol

I’ve got nothing against it and understand the need, but when we have to drag deer out of ponds and off fields is when I have issues. Folks around here shoot 5.56 and don’t drop half of what they shoot. Not to mention all the fawns now running around like pets.
 
Pretty much any centerfire is effective with that shot placement. Some rimfires too.
Must be having a hoot. Wish we had that many dear.

The deer population sure has changed in my lifetime . We got way to many deer mid state and south. The group I hunt/shoot with has donated around 500 deer to the Hunters feeding Michigan program in the last 3 years.

Most I've killed in one evening sit is 8. It's fun till the work starts.. ;)

Same situation in ms where we have land. Local farmers kill as many as allowed and invite others to shoot does. I cleaned 7 this past year - most for my 8 yo grandson. If you don’t get a shot you must be asleep on the stand!
