Anyhoo, I'm certain as to what they are, or think I am. Anybody wanna take a guess?

(I will make a point later. Or at least try

And I figure they're 243 dia.

The top bullet is a 87gr Hornady. The bottom bullet is a 100gr SGK. Both in .243 as Shane stated.

The middle bullet is what?

No cigar Grant.

Middle bullet is a .223 70gr. TSX.

Now I have used all 3 of these bullets more than a few times. I believe the reason why I took the pic was because I was a bit fed up at the time about people saying the 223 was too small for deer.

Guess which bullet penetrated the furthest and exited the deer every time? Guess which bullet holds together the best if you hit bone? Guess which bullet retains the most of it's weight? Guess which bullet mushrooms the most consistently?

I can only guess myself, at the latter 2 questions. As I never recover the damm things. But when somebody actually does find one and post pics, they seem to be THE model of consistency as far as bullets go.

All I can state is that I have seen the destruction they do. And it is beyond impressive. From every angle, every time. They just flat out work, and work well.

I find it ludicrous that the same people who feel the top and bottom bullets adequate for deer, find the middle bullet "too small". Believe me when I say, it is more than big enough to handily take any deer walking.

Better yet, give them a try. I've never heard anyone who actually USES THEM, proclaim them inadequate.

Rant over.....

You won't get any arguments from me! I've seen what a .223 Nosler 60gr Partition does to a 200 pound hog ... and it kills them DEAD.

Does that mean I win that one?

Back in the day, when most all bullets were of similar construction, bigger was usually "better".

But now, technology has drastically changed things. Now, bullet selection is quite often MUCH more important than the headstamp on the brass IMO. Smaller bullets of lesser size, like TSXs, can easily out perform larger bullets of lesser construction..........

Yep. But many still don't get it.

Anybody who thinks an 87gr SP out their 243 is adequate, but a 70gr TSX inadequate, simply hasn't experienced first hand what myself and others have..........

Shoot, Ken...there are tons of folks who still think that the .243 Win with any bullet is 'inadequate' for deer. I can't even begin to tell you the stories I've heard working my part time at Cabela's. Some people's children will never learn.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.

There are still a whole lot of weekend warriors who just grab the first green/yellow/ or silver Winny box off the shelf in whatever the most popular weight is. They don't know what premium bullet performance is all about.

A certain yooper in the family kills deer with 55gr SP regularly. Has for years. But they are placed accordingly. I'd rather not place them on the point of the shoulder or on south end of a northbound deer, like I did with 2 of my TSX kills.....

I took 2 deer with 62s and a 24" CZ 527 bolt gun, and 3-4 deer and a coyote with 70s and my 20" RRA AR.

Not home now so can't check MV. I'm not even sure if I chronied them or just dialed them in, but could give a pretty good guess.

I run 24.5gr or TAC or Varget with the 70s. Prolly around 2770 ish.

25.5gr with the 62s and longer barrel for around 3025-3050 ish.

Guesses, but probably very close to what I get.....
