Doubt if it will get through.
Of course if you want to start deducting expenses for pet, just start breeding it. That makes it a business expense. Oops, it's been fixed? Too bad, so sad.
This one reminds me of a person that called about a gelding for sale and the first question was "Is it a good breeder?" If I had answered the phone would have replied "As good as any other gelding". Some people just shouldn't have anything to do with certain things.

I had a bunch of calves for sale.

A guy showed up to buy. He had rented a farmhouse and 1 acre in the area. He was looking to get inot the cattle business and wanted to know how much if he took 6 heifers and a steer.
I asked if he was planning to raise them on the 1 acre and he gave me the "DUH!" Of course look. /then I asked if he planned to put the steer in the freezer. He said maybe in a couple months when all the heifers were bred.

I think it's an idea whose time has come. Owning a boarding kennel and a pet supply store puts me in a position to see how much $$ a person will spend on dogs which more often than not, are considered children. Some of the figures of money spent that I can show you are simply astounding.
