AA2200 for 5.56

From what I have found, 23.5g of AA 2200 is a max load for 55g .224 bullets. Anybody know of a good load to start with less than the max load? I have a 20 inch 1:9 twist AR.

I have not used any of the Accurate 2200, but have had good success using both A2230 and A2460 in 223 Remington.Look at the description for A2200 on Accurates web page.

Unable to open the PDF file on the Accurate website yesterday but got it to open this morning. Looks like 21.1 to 23.4g range with a 55 grain Nosler BT.

I kind of hoped you might take notice of the part where it reads, works in .223 Rem with lighter bullets UP TO 45g.
Says that in the powders general description.
Not saying it wont work for you, but just feel like A2230 or A2460 would give you better results, again not sure because I never tried it.
Since you mention 5.56 I ASSUME you are reloading for a AR ? I have started using Benchmark and can say with certainty that it is a much cleaner powder than any of the ball powders I have used, W748, A2230, A2460, H335 and TAC. Others may have different experiences, but that is mine. I`m judging by the amount of carbon removed from both barrel, and especially the BCG.
