Accessories for FX3

I have some more information on accessories that will be available for the FX3. First, we will be offering 8 AA NiMH batteries and a standard wall charger for $29.95. The charger that is used on non-FX3 FOXPRO products will not work with the FX3 (battery voltage is different on the FX3). The NiMH batteries that come in this kit are 2300mAh batteries. We are also offering a Fast Charger Kit, that will include a fast charger for a standard wall outlet, and also an auto inverter for use in your vehicle. This Fast Charger will also come with its own battery pack (the pack used with this fast charger has to have the batteries welded together). The Fast Charger kit will sell for 69.95. The carry case for the FX3 will sell for 27.95, and is identical to our current carry case, but just a little bit larger. We are also offering a large external speaker, that has proved to be much more efficient and smoother frequency response than any that we have tested. This large external speaker will sell for $69.95. We have worked very closely with a US manufacturer for this speaker (It is Made in the USA!) I will also soon have pricing for our external power pack. I will also be sure to provide photos as soon as they become available. Thanks!

2300mah what does the mah mean?i have 1300mah one's your saying they wont work in the FX3?i do not under stand why whats the diffence /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

257-wby,
I think Mike is saying that the charger for the FX3 won't charge the batteries on the older Foxpro models. I think that's because the new FX3 is using 8 AA's for a 12 volt system and the old models used 4 AA's for a 6 volt system. The 2300mah is just the milli amp hour rating on the batteries. All that is going to do is give you a longer run time. The higher the mah, the longer the amp hours you'll get out of that battery. I think that's right. Anybody correct me if I'm wrong. You can probably use your 1300mah batteries in the FX3 but you'll need 8 of them and it's going to shorten your run time.

257-wby,

Snowcamoman is right. You will be able to use your NiMH batteries if you want, you just will not be able to use your charger. The unit you have is a 6 volt system, while the FX3 is a 12 volt system. The 1300mAh batteries will not last as long as the 2300mAh batteries that we will be offering. Thanks, Snowcamoman!

Mike and Snowcamoman ok lets see if i have this right the batteries i have right now will work but may only have lets say half the life in the Fx3 compared to the 416 am i under standing this right? thanks for clearing this up for me.Mike do you know if i had the batteries your talking about with 2300 mah if there fully charged in the FX3 and it was played on full volume how long they would last just trying to decide weather the ones i have now would last me on a days hunt lets say with about 8 hrs playing time or if you think its best to get the other batteries. Thanks

257-wby,

When comparing battery life between the 2 different batteries, you have to compare them in the same unit. If you use 8 1300 mAh batteries in the FX3, you will only get about half of the battery life than if you used 8 2300 mAh batteries. Also, you have to be sure to use the same mAh rating on all of the batteries in your system. Do not mix 1300 mAh batteries with 2300 mAh batteries. When you buy our NiMH battery and charger kit for the FX3, it includes 8 2300mAh batteries. Battery life is also directly related to the volume used, and number of speakers used. With the 2300 mAh batteries fully charged, and the FX3 playing at 1/2 volume continuously with one speaker playing, you can expect approx 15 hours of use. If you play both speakers continuously at 1/2 volume, then the battery life is cut in half. If you have both speakers playing at the same time on full volume playing continuously, then you will only get approx 2-3 hours of use. The key word in the previous sentences is continuously. With 8 of your 1300 mAh batteries fully charged, I don't think you will have any problems at all. I hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!

Mike,
I understand that the FX3 comes with 256mb of storage which would handle about 32 8mb files which would allow for some lengthy calls but I was just curious about the 256mb memory . Is this upgradeable???

Thanks, I can't wait until my FX3 is delivered!!!!!

Hi Mountain Caller,

Yes, the storage capacity of the FX3 will be upgradeable in the future. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!

Hello Mike
All speakers have a manufacter listed spec's can you tell me what they are. And when will this large external speaker be available. How would I go about ordering the speaker when it is available.

coyotechet,

We could provide you with manufactures specs on a speaker, but before we do that, we need to be sure that apples are going to be compared to apples, and not to oranges. Some manufactures have posted frequency response numbers, as well as total harmonic distortion numbers, that are simply not meaningful as used in their system (remember that most speakers have at best a 5 to 10% distortion factor). These numbers need to be qualified, and explained how they were obtained. For example, at what level down (db) where the numbers measured at, what kind of enclosure were they in, etc. We would never put out numbers that are not true and qualified as they are used in our system. However, if we do provide qualified numbers, we could end up with a proverbial "black eye" because the unqualified numbers of others may appear more favorable to those who do not understand how the numbers were obtained. It makes no sense to take part in the game of beating unqualified numbers with more unqualified numbers.
The large external speakers are ordered, and will be available when the FX3's are ready to ship. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!

Hey Mike! I'm making a space on my safari rack for that beauty of a speaker you have there. I can't wait to let a howl rip through that thing with my new FX3. Very cool!
