Accuracy loss with pulled bullets that were crimp damaged?

Traded 200 .308 bullets (that I got for basically nothing) and $45 for 575 .243 bullets the other day on another forum. They were listed as “pulled”. Ended up for 200, 70 grain NBTs, 100, 55 grain NBTs, 100, Herters 85 grain wasp, about a 100, 85 grain boat tail sold points (guessing sierras), 40, 70 grain HP boat tails( guessing seirra) and approximately 40, 68 grain Berger HPs. I have been pin tumbling them clean today and got through the first four batches. So far the 200, 70 grain Nosler ballistic tips have some heavy crimp marks on them. I found a couple of the 55’s with them too. How much, if any, accuracy loss will have with these? Anyone have hands on experience of testing bullets that look like these? I also ended up with a 100 of the goofy looking wasp wasted Herters 85 grain .243’s. Figured for what I got them for they will make some good plinking loads for the ARs but was hoping to hold onto the Nosler BTs for my bolt guns. I would think the crimp dents would get swaged out when firing through the rifling?

I would bet youy would be unable to tell the difference the pulled & virgin bullets. I shoot a LOT of 175SMKs pulled from M118 ammo. Some have serious jaw scars. Use em for practice as well as matches in an M1A, work fine. Although, I'm only shooting to 300 yds. A rifle barrel makes a great bullet swage.

I don't think the coyote will complain. I purchased a couple thousand Sierra 39 gr Bk(pulled) cheap 7-8 years ago. After the last 2 years, I'm glad I did. I haven't seen any difference on paper or prairie dogs, the pull marks are visible along with a cannelure that seems to far towards the tip. Love the way pd pop from those bullets.

Shoot them; they'll do fine....well, not so sure about the wasp waisted ones ;), but they're supposed to be the "best in the world".

Joking aside, I purchased an ammo can full of 150 gr. M2 Ball bullets at a gun show which had obviously been pulled using a pair of side cutters and they performed as well as any M2 ball ammo I have shot, and I've shot thousands of rounds of M2 in practice. Dug up a few and you could not find any wire cutter marks on them, having been ironed out by the rifling.

Lol…those wasp waisted projectiles will get a starting load of what ever bulk powder I have laying round. They’ll be used for mag dumps in one of my 243 BCA ARs.

only way to know for sure is to test some and find out!

that said ... i've shot lots of pulls and seconds and blems with great results.
