Has anyone ever seen a ACME 12 ga double barrel shotgun with hammers
I got one from my uncles estate sale, can't find a thing on the web
thanks in advance for any info

Sounds like one of those hardware store brand shotguns made and sold back in the late 1800's, early 1900's. They were much like Westernfield for Montgomery Wards, or Ted Whatshisname LOL, for Sears, made by a gun company, but branded for specific lines of stores.

Now, I remember, Ted Williams. LOL

Probably one of the early shotguns made for private business, like some Local Owned Hardware Company, Sears or Western Auto and they had their name put on the weapon. This was common practice in the early 1900's , most don't even have a SN #. You will have to track down who made shotguns for this company. Some of the ACME double shotguns where manufactured in Belgium with Damascus barrels.

I think the "ACME" name was used by the W. H. Davenport Company. Probably absorbed by the Crescent Arms Company in the early 1900's.

According to the twenty-ninth edition of the blue book of gun values Acme was a trade name of Davenport Arms Company, Hopkins and Allen bought the company and continued to make them, they also manufactured shotguns for Acme Hammerless that was owned by Hulbert Brothers circa 1893. Acme arms was a trade name for Cornwall Hardware Co. in New York, no reference to what became of them.
