Acquiring new spots to predator hunt

Maybe there is a thread like this somewhere because I am new to the forums and may not have been able to find it. But I am in Virginia and looking to find new spots to predator hunt. I mainly night hunt. I Have all the right stuff and have been at it several years so I am not new to thermals or night hunting by any means. Killed 11 coyotes last year on 5 properties. Two of those properties I don’t even have permission on unless I’m with the person who does unfortunately. I know that’s nothing amazing. I am looking to increase numbers and time in the field this year! I thought about over the span of two days just knocking on doors, introducing myself and asking that way. I saw recently while someone was sitting in their deer stand emailed themselves the address of like five properties near where they were and went home and typed a letter mailed it at the post office to each property. They said out of every 20 he sent he may get one response. I’m not sure the coyotes are such a problem here that people would respond to mail with a phone call. Maybe the older generation. My dad is 74 and certainly isn’t getting on Facebook or a forum to seek out something like information on who could take care of a few coyotes on his property. Thoughts?? If just knock on doors what’s the best way to approach the conversation. I know people are nuts over their deer here and think that a night time coyote hunter could run off the deer. I wouldn’t tell them otherwise but I’ve watched too much deer behavior while I’m hunting to believe that’s true. On the couple occasions I’ve asked permission I do make it clear that I’m not looking to gain access for any other species.

I have found here in SW PA that many will allow coyote hunting that will not allow any other hunting. These critters have had a bad wrap since the white man crossed the Mississippi. Knock and talk but do it when they are not working OR eating.

Haha, I also think this time of year if I wait until after rifle season maybe they won’t be afraid of my seeing their deer or scaring them away. And maybe they don’t see as many deer as usual and hear coyotes and blame them!

You are right, I do help the one property owner split wood every spring and clear trails in the late summer. I guess should offer than up during knock and talk.
