Adjustable Gas Blocks and Suppressors???

Had a couple issues with the Geissle trigger in my .223 AR, pulled it apart to clean it all up and it was crazy grimy with junk getting blown back into the TG and mag well. Rounds in the magazine are filthy after two shots.

Anyone run an adjustable gas block for suppressed and unsuppressed use? Thinking I might just build an upper specifically for running suppressed, but would obviously prefer just one.

I only run suppressed and only run adjustable gas blocks. Adjustable gas blocks help but there really is no way to keep the crud out due to the design. The quieter the can, the dirtier and more back pressure they have. Flow through designs are a little cleaner but louder and typically much heavier.

One thing that helps is put a little shot of break free before and after shooting, really helps making clean up easier.

The only way to majorly reduce it is run a piston system.

I agree, One of my rifles has an adjustable gas block, the other has a bootleg brand adjustable gas BCG.

They both work fantastic. If i had to choose one it would be the bootleg all day, because adjustments from suppressor on/off can me made perfect in a second. Also one can run a pinned gas block, which i am big fan of. Adjustable gas blocks do not last forever either.

I really am a die hard AR15 fan. But there is no doubt in my mind that suppressing it, is far from the design intention.

I really spend a lot of time cleaning my suppressed rifles after each and every time out shooting it.

Bolt and piston rifles will get nice and dirty too. Just not as quickly.

Lots of cleaning.

Thanks arlaunch, more great input.

I’ve decided to leave the ARs alone, and go 16” bolt gun for a dedicated nighttime rig.
