Advice wanted: How much $ to pay for cleaning?

Got a question, & would like advice on it.....

Since I'm kinda "disabled", and it's very difficult for me to both do a lot of bending over (to reach low places/floor)...and get down/up from a floor...some things around the house aren't easy for me to clean.

The main thing is the bathroom.

Which is one of those areas that need to stay clean.

I have a small bathroom...approx. 5'x 6'.
It has a tub, and shower curtain...w/"shower wall" panels covering some of the sheetrock (except up closer to the ceiling).
Of course, a toilet. And a medicine cabinet over a wall-mounted sink. (no vanity)
The floor, of course, is standard linoleum.
In recent years I had installed a couple stainless grab bars in & next to, the tub.

Anyway...
I haven't done any checking with business' such as Service Master/Merry Maids, as to what they would charge.

I'm wondering...if I instead hired a private individual to come in & clean this room, from top/bottom...what might be a reasonable amount of payment to agree to???

Any ideas?

{Note: I am on S.S. Disability, and so my budget is quite limited, as it's my only "income".}

I consulted with my wife because she has a small cleaning business. She has gotten away from home cleaning and now for the most part just a couple of regular accounts.
Figure if the person supplies the required `materials`(cleaners, brush, paper towels, rags, vacuum, etc)it is going to be ~$25.00 per hour.
It may take a hour the first time cleaning but maybe less thereafter. Probably best to set something up regularly scheduled, and remember for a person to `show up` cost them time and $$

We had a weekend rental and the cleaning fee started at $100 if the place was reasonably cleaned when the guests left. If it was left a mess it could go to the sky is the limit.

You have to figure in small jobs can cost as much or more than larger job. Travel time, mileage etc. can add up just to get to the location. Then some places won't touch a job for less than a set minimum. The lady that did our place, her minimum was the $100 fee. We furnished nothing, she brought all cleaning supplies and equipment.

Any kids from about 11 on up close to you. I used to have the neighbors girl (11yr) clean my place 1x a month for $20. She did a good job and the bathrooms were no problem for her. Course by myself the place don't get that bad to start with.

5spd...Nope, there are zero number of kids that age in my neighborhood.
I seem to live in a small area where everyone is either young adults (who don't want to help their neighbors) who have children age 2-5.
Or people who are older.
Heck, nobody even Trick or Treat's in my neck of the woods!hahaha

I've tried to hire both my oldest son's live-in girlfriend, and my youngest son's live-in girlfriend (which originally was my oldest son's wife).
But those two women are so dang lazy, they sleep half the days away, and don't want to work.

I've been doing the cleaning myself. But, like I say, it's dang hard for me to reach certain places, & so I know it's not getting cleaned correctly. Hence my thoughts of maybe hiring someone.

My parents have a 2 story house under 3000 sq ft and have had the same lady cleaning the house every other week for $60 since 1997. She has here own key and is trusted. I have found over the years that the cheaper cleaners actually do a better job than the more expensive. I would never hire a cleaning service like Merry Maid because I want to know who is coming into my home.

The only problem with your situation is getting someone to come and clean one room (bathroom). I would not pay someone more than $20 to clean my bathroom.

Is this normal in Kansas. Talk about keeping it in the family

Maybe You need to check around and see who Your Friends or Neighbors may use to clean their House or Apartment and get References of Someone they know and trust to do a good job?

My Wife does a lot of House Cleaning for Individuals that live on a Private Lake Developement that is Gated and Secure. She has built up Her Reputation by being hard working and Honest and can find more work than She could possibly keep up with but She tries to do what Jobs make Her more flexable with our 2nd Daughter still in School and my work schedule and what Goals and Hobbies we enjoy. She cleans a few Houses in Town for an Elderley Couple also and a number of Businesses that want someone to clean every other week or 1 time a month.

I'm sure with Her prices will vary from how far She would have to drive, how many hours cleaning and if it's an a Individual or Business. As mentioned smaller Cleaning Jobs may cost a little more but longer bigger jobs would probably vary from $10.00 to around $20-25.00 an hour? Most of the time a Person will advertise what they charge an hour or You would negotiate what price would be fair and affordable!
